I can see
Billy The Goat
is thinking,
seriously, about
bum-rushing me
and cows are honking
on the hillside
of early evening
and cars and trucks
are reeling out
a distant roar on the highway
just beyond the horizon.
And then suddenly
there’s this huge
Blue Heron climbing
up from the middle
of the pasture, not even
thirty feet away,
to the first current of wind
strong enough to
bare his weight up,
up and away he goes
and in no particular
hurry.

JaSon,
ReplyDeleteFuck, man. This is beautiful and such a departure from your other work. Mine this vein for a while and see what happens!
